Islam: A Blessing from Allah ﷻ
Being a Muslim is a blessing from Allah ﷻ .
This Article will look at a few of the blessings of Islam
- Allah’s blessings upon humankind are so abundant that none can ever count them.
Allah ﷻ says in the Qur’aan,
وَءَاتَىٰكُم مِّن كُلِّ مَا سَأَلْتُمُوهُ ۚ وَإِن تَعُدُّوا۟ نِعْمَتَ ٱللَّهِ لَا تُحْصُوهَآ ۗ إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ لَظَلُومٌۭ كَفَّارٌۭ ( سورة ابراهيم : ٣٤ )
“And He gave you from all you asked of Him. And if you should count the favor [i.e., blessings] of Allah, you could not enumerate them. Indeed, mankind is [generally] most unjust and ungrateful. (Soorat Ibraaheem: 34)
- Allah ﷻ has given people whatever they require to lead a happy life in this world and to succeed in the next. These are all the favors of Allah ﷻ upon his servants. The greatest of all Allah’s ﷻ blessing is Islam. Islam is the perfect way of life that Allah ﷻ has given to people.
Allah ﷻ says in the Qur’aan ,
ٱلْيَوْمَ أَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دِينَكُمْ وَأَتْمَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعْمَتِى وَرَضِيتُ لَكُمُ ٱلْإِسْلَـٰمَ دِينًۭا (سورة المائدة : ٣)
This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My Favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion… (Soorat al-Maa’idah:3)
Allah ﷻ says,
«Indeed the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam. (Soorat Aali Imraan:19)
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ عِندَ اللَّهِ الْإِسْلَامُ (سورة آل عمران: ۱۹)
- Islam is the only acceptable way of life in the sight of Allah ﷻ . Allah ﷻ chose the best of the Prophets, Muhammad to teach the people Islam, the best way of life, which is recorded in the best book, the Qur’aan. This is further proof of the superiority of Islam. Allah ﷻ has created humankind to worship only Him. Allah ﷻ made Islam an easy means to fulfill this duty, because of His mercy. Islam does not place any kind of difficulties on its followers.
هُوَ ٱجْتَبَىٰكُمْ وَمَا جَعَلَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِى ٱلدِّينِ مِنْ حَرَجٍۢ (سورة الحج : ۷۸ )
Allah ﷻ says,
“…He has chosen you and has not placed upon you in the religion any difficulty.” (Soorat al-Hajj: 78)
قال رسول الله ﷺ ( إن الدين يُسر، ولن يُشَادُ الدِّينَ أحد إلا غلبه) (رواه البخاري)
The Prophet ﷺ said, “Religion is very easy and whoever overburdens himself in his religion will not be able to continue in that way.” (Bukhaari)
- Islam allows its followers many concessions in circumstances where they might be faced with difficulties. When a Muslim undertakes a journey, Islam allows him to reduce the number of raka’aat he prays for the some of the obligatory prayers. The traveler, the aged and the ill are allowed not to fast during Ramadaan. They may make up for the missed fast at another time. If they cannot do that they may compensate for it by feeding the poor.Islam is a comprehensive way of life. It provides its followers with guidance in every situation.
It encompasses all aspects of life. Every act of the believer is an act of worship as long as it is done for the pleasure of Allah ﷻ and is in agreement with the laws of Allah ﷻ and the teachings of the Prophet. A Muslim will be rewarded for every good act. The Prophet ﷺ has mentioned that even to smile at another Muslim is an act of worship.Islam’s involvement in every aspect of the believer’s life ensures a happy life in this world. Islam saves those who obey Allah’s commands abstain from sins from the Fire and leads them to Paradise.
Allah ﷻ says in the Qur’aan ,
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ كَانَتْ لَهُمْ جَنَّـٰتُ ٱلْفِرْدَوْسِ نُزُلًا (سورة الكهف : ۱۰۷)
“Indeed those who have believed and done righteous deeds- they will have the Gardens of Paradise as lodging” (Soorat al-Kahf. 107)
- Muslims should be grateful to Allah ﷻ for giving them the blessing of Islam. They should show their gratitude by being obedient to the commands of Allah ﷻ and by worshipping only him. Muslims should also take pride in their religion, and invite people to it by showing them its beauty.
What we learn from the lesson:
- Being a Muslim is a blessing from Allah ﷻ .
- Those who worship Allah ﷻ alone will enter Paradise.
- It is easy to practice Islam.
- Muslims should take pride in their way of life.
